Default Driver's side and driver's rear power window problem

Hey,

The power window for the drivers side as well as the power window in the rear of the driver do not work. It is not working on the drivers side rear switch or on the drivers main control switches.

The passenger side and the passenger rear works fine from the drivers main control switches.

Could this still be the main switch issue? or a wiring fault?

Thank you.

have you swapped the rear switch with a known working switch?. have you also removed trims & checked [with a multimeter] that there is power to the motor & motor plug is not unattached?. if you know what you are doing you could apply 12 '+' & '-' directly to the motor to check the motor function. is unusual for both on the one side to stop working tho. you 'may' also have a faulty main switch.

Thanks for the reply.

Thats a good point.. I will swap rear switches tomorrow and check. The drivers door window works intermittently, and when it does work the glass travels on it's rails nice and quick.. other times it will travel down a bit then stop...but most of the time when I've tried it doesn't work at all...

Cheers

ok ... working sometimes could be a faulty switch ie- needs an internal clean due to contacts arcing & covering with 'gunk' [carbon] which can cause some of your problems.

We had to clean the gunk in the switch on the driver's door. It's the one that gets the most use. The rear one won't work if the driver's door isn't passing through the power.

We had to clean the gunk in the driver's door switches. They get the most work and the witches on the other doors won't work if the driver's door doesn't pass the power through.
