I have a leak from the Timing Cover on my AU11-6 .
Over a year ago I had the Cover off to change the Crank-shaft Oil Seal as I had a leak then. It could have been the Tensioner but anyway that history. So Ford did the Seal and also the Chain Guides and gave me a new Harmonic Balancer Too.. All Great but... To get the Timing Cover off they loosen the Oil Pan Bolts to get some play' with the Timing Cover ...to-get-it-off, the Crank shaft' . This breaks the seal though of the Oil Pan..The result is difficulty in Sealing' the Pan and the Timing Cover when re-fitting. My Dilemma is that it's now "Leaking".............#@%$$$&& ****ttttt !!!! Wiping silastic around the spot is useless. My Brother suggests some aviation grade paste that he has used at Work. Anyone had any luck with another remedy, I love to hear it ! Washburner |

Might be worth putting in a whole new (used) engine instead of spending more time and money trying to fix up the existing unit, the six cylinders are very cheap. You could look at putting in a VCT also, if it isn't already.

Had a timing cover leak for 10 years
I put down a drip tray and just accepted that it leaked one drop of oil per night, every night.

I had a quote $940-00 ....So I put some Rear Oil Seal' additive Risol or something like that and Now ( 2 days later ) It has just a drip . Supposedly it will stop after 150 Ks driving...This product is one of many and claims it can stop timimg cover leaks too. We'll see..
I have decided to get a Phase 7 ...,G6E "Gas-buggy" ( LPi ) 2012 model next week. If anyone needs a pretty good AU11 Wagon with a recently Reco'ed Gearbox and a New Vialle Convertor , Drilled and Slotted front Discs and a good set of Front Struts & Springs . Second hand Tom Tom Audio worth $250-00 let me know. |
