Default BA GT seats into AUXR8

Have a bit of a problem - I have a red AU11 XR8 in mint condition with leather interior, also in mint condition. The car is usually in most of my car clubs show n shines and has been kept stock for this reason - exception being exhaust mod's, CAI & wheels.

I have a mint black BA GT interior (free), lucky me, that is slowly doing my head in at the moment.

What are your thoughts: pull the leather XR8 interior, wrap in plastic and put away and fit the BA GT Interior or

Nah - GT seats in an XR8, it's not a GT so why bother.

Ok, leather is nice, but it will look funny in an AU, that's also an XR.

If yours is currently in great nick, I would sell the BA interior. It doesn't suit the car.

Pros
More comfy seats (Debatable)?
Side airbags

Cons
Your car is no longer original
Not good for car resale (I for one wouldn't touch it if I was after a AU XR8)
GT insignia on seats looks wrong on an AU XR
PITA trying to fit ?
You'd get more for the FPV interior than the XR one on EBAY

As you can see the pros outweight the cons

I also was lead to believe the BA seats are not a direct bolt in for the AU's and an engineer would have to oversee and sign off on it.

Or maybe thats just a ute thing?

Sounds about right. You would certainly need to change the rails over as the BA rails and AU rails have slightly different mounting points on the body, and are a different shape.

Sell the BA interior - you should look to get somewhere around the $1500 to $2k mark for it, possibly more. That put's you about 30% of the way to a supercharger for the XR.
