Hey guys
Car is under warranty and has hardly done 3000km since I bought it 1 month ago. Car stopped working last week same time the key stop working and there fixing it all under warranty however living over 40mins from dealership car was towed there at my expense and dealership refused to help and refuse to pay back the tow bill. Spoken to DFT and they said they should pay me back. Anyone else had this experience or similar and how did you sort it out. All I get by the service manager is rudeness and abuse |

used car dealer warranty (dont have the paperwork with me at moment)
the repairs are all covered under warranty but there being asses about the tow and im out of pocket $200 and just been advised by DTF that the dealer should of paid it and organised it (which they refused this morning) so now its either fight with them via DTF or find a better nicer way |

Well check the warranty paperwork... It should tell you in there what is covered... You have to remember the dealer isn't paying for the warranty themselves, its through a 3rd party insurer. It will come down to the terms and conditions outline in the warranty.

If you arranged the Tow Truck I think you will be out of luck. They might cover the cost of what they pay for a tow if your lucky. They pay about $30 bucks a tow.

Ford's factory warranty clearly says that they are not responsible for getting the car to and from the dealership - they will repair the car and that's it. Perhaps your used warranty says something similar.

If a vehicle cannot be driven because of a defect covered by warranty and the vehicle has to be towed to the dealer or a repairer, the dealer may be obliged to pay the cost of transportation.
This is the clause, it does not state that they have to pay for it. It says they may, but I assume that if they deem it necessary to tow and they arrange the tow they would pay the cost. But because you have arranged the tow your self, I would try and get the money back, but I think your going to lose on this. |

WOW, sounds like you were lucky.
That's actually brilliant service, maybe you can name the dealership then?
