I'd consider one if it could seat 5 and had back doors.

Just read it is electric so no thanks, I wanted one that whines with a supercharged 5L (or 5.2L Voodoo).

I don't think the design language carries over as well as some of the other oddball SUV's like the Cayenne, Macan and Urus.

That large grille will be a big drag penalty for something no longer needed. I'd be curious to see the detailing there to see how they've overcome that.

I think it will all come down to price and cruising range and whether Australians are ready to go electric in a large SUV.
Maybe little ahead of its time, but these will be commonplace in 10 years or 2030.

What the Aussie market is screaming for though at the present time and would be hot sellers, is a Ford V8 SUV and dual cab ute.

Pretty sure it's already been confirmed that it's not coming here.

And I don't think Ford even have a V8 SUV anymore. Top engine is the 3.5 ecoboost in Explorer and Expedition. Bronco won't have a V8 either. Those days are gone.

According to Ryan Walkinshaw, the conversion market could be 10000 units per annum. The market is currently limited by how many they can convert.

But eventually medical technology will catch up, and actual enlargement will become cheaper than compensating.

I think they got over 300 in August. but have dropped off significantly now.

It's still only small numbers though. Ranger and Hilux will sell as many in 2 or 3 weeks as they will sell Rams in 12 months.

Ford Australia have been quite happy selling circa 500 x V8 Mustangs a month to a niche market.
I think they would also be happy selling an equal number of V8 SUV's or dual cabs if it was available to them.

The Ram proves there is still an interest in a V8 ute market here, and the Ram is not cheap either.

I'm sure if the Ranger or Hilux came with a small block V8 option, there would be interest, even though this could never happen.

As mentioned previously we didn't RHD Mustangs developed just for Australia needs.
Oversized V8 American Utes are not popular outside of America, yes they do attract a modest interest here but not enough to warranty factory Production so conversion is required

Walkinshaw needed a $5 Million Grant to get things happening, I'm not sure how much profit they are making despite the Pricetag.

Point being the Mustangs are available for Ford Australia to sell regardless of volumes.

Yeah but ford north america would not want a couple thousand rhd f series bringing more manufacturing complexity to their cash cow truck plants. The numbers would be such a tiny fraction of their daily production to not even be worth the effort.

Mustang is different cause rhd builds make up a fair chunk of production, and it’s popular in rhd countries that would have no desire for f series.

Interesting you say that, a source I know getting info from Flat Rock is that doing RHD is a PIA having to change things at lines (obviously) for the demands are always high on the LHD cash cows.
The RHD demands are still small compared to nth america volumes as I'm sure you know.

When Flat Rock were having Downdays, guess who came to the party and ordered a **** load of Mustangs ?

That attitude just smacks of “We are the world and we don’t care about anyone else”.

I wonder if other plants around the world from OEM manufacturers have that attitude to LHD and RHD ?

They don’t, it’s an American thing.
