Ok I brought a new radiator (170 bucks...bargin and it was from Ford!). Now how do I take out the old one? Is there anything tricky?
Im guessing all I do is unbolt the fan guard, disconnect the hoses and then pull it out and chuck the new one in? Im hoping its that stright forward. Also I got a XH snorkel, do I have to cut up the fan guard to fit it on? What have you guys done? Thanks in advance!

You undo the fan guard, bottom and top radiator hoses, and the 2 bolts either side at the top, do reverse to replace and top up with new coolant.
XH snorkle requires cutting of the fan guard the only way.

ah bummer...so why couldn't I just leave the shroud off? Is it just there for safety?
I haven't looked at my engine bay in about a week, so excuse my ignorance. Couldn't I just cable tie the snorkel to the radiator some how?,...maybe...

Shroud is for safety and airflow, without it I think you will find the car will run too hot.

hack saw, just a hack saw blade, multi purpose saw, dremel, serated knife, grinder.

Dont lave the shroud off the air will just circulate in the bay instead of being pulled through thr rad.

OH bloody hell!
I had the worst arfternoon yesterday! Ok, I had limited time last night, and it got dark quickly; I got all the hoses/bolts off except for the following: 1. The big one at the bottom left - I just could get a good enough grip/leverage on the damn thing! There is SFA room down there. 2. The two metal pipes on the left side. Again room is an issue, and one of the bolts are stripped which is proving to be a pain in the ****. Also, should I take the fan out before doing this? I figured if you push the shroud forward, then there is enough room to slip the radiator out and put the new one in. Atleast I think thats how its going to work. So can anyone help? Ill have another go tonight but if anyone is free in geelong tomorrow morning; I have beer and can supply snags Wayne...you there?...lol

1 - yeah not alot of room, big pain
2 - The metal pipes are the trans cooler lines, easily stripped and yes not easy, remove the battery cooler suround if you still have it, makes enough room. 3- you can leave the fan on and sit the shroud back, I suggest a bit of cardboard between fan and new radiator when fitting to stop damage to the fins.

Make sure you don't f**k up the two metal hoses, otherwise you'll be up chocolate creek with out a popsical (sp?) stick like I was the night before GOR. Bad, bad memories.

Take your hacksaw and cut through those metal pipes. You don't need them since you don't have an auto.

ok guys are you serious? what are the metal house for then? and if I hack them up what happens to the holes when I put the new one in? Remember my car was converted so does that mean he left crap in?
Because if I dicked around for ages trying to get those F%$kers off I wont be impressed! But thick red liquid came out? You sure?

the metal pipes are for the trans cooler, i dont see why they would still have fluid in them if its now a manual

Manuals are brown liquid, auto's use red, so I would suspect trace the pipes back you will find them going no where and sealed off, yes they left bits in not needed.
You can leave the holes in the radiator, I fitted a new radiatior to my car with a 4 speed auto and an external trans cooler, I skipped the radiator and just use the external trans cooler, left plastic plugs in the radiator for the sake of it, but not required.
