Default Unexpected BEEP

My brother has pretty much taken over my car, as he has got his P's. He has found that pressing ON and the MINUS buttons (cars fitted with cruise control) does something rather interesting...

try it out.. does it work for u? (car doesnt have to be on)

I dare say most of the E-Series Owner's Club do. Though I might be wrong.

Mine dropped $11 in 20 cent pieces into the glove compartment, and brought up 3 cheries on the dash. :nutsycuck

the buttons for cruise just have a couple of connections, but go to the many different functions to operate the cruise.
they work off resistance, and it just happens that if you press those 2 buttons together it sends the same resistance thats used to make the horn operate.

Marlin girl - your friends horn pad needs replaced. Tell her to turn the wheel 90 degree's and behind there theres 2 holes use a flat head screwdriver and unclip the horn pad from eah side and pull it out.

Its damn embarressing when you have a race and you take off and your horn startys goin blip beep beep bleep. the other guy thinks your some kind of druggo lol.

The horn thing only works ea-ed. my horn pad is out at the moment i think they can be fixed just need some more foamy stuff with adheasive on both sides. where the hell you get it from is anyones guess.

Least if your horn pad isnt on when mr plod asks where is is you can still toot (if you have cruise) The best time to demonstrate the horn works is when he has his head under the bonnet looking over your engine. Don't laugh when he slams up into your bonnet tho it won't help matters.

if you dont have a horn pop your bonnet with car off and press the horn pad and listen for a relay to click. If it doesnt the relay is bust if it does the horn itself is bust or unplugged
