Default VE recalled
All v6 ve's have been recalled due to a potential fire hazard in the engine bay, would have been nice if the timing was with the melbourne motor show Good to see they are being proactive anyway.

This isn't new. They were also recalled for a drama with the rear passenger seat belts. Only about 6/8 months ago. Where you getting your lightning quick info from?

There was a similar problem in Oct 2006, but this sounds like it's a different problem.

I think 80,000 have been recalled for a fuel leak, that is happening in the engine bay, right after yesterday,s statement that holden had sold the most cars.

no, this wasnt a recall, just a service issue. that way they didnt have to re-do all brake lines if they didnt need to. they simply asked that if the owner/driver started to fell that the brake pedal was becoming soft they should take it in for replacement, otherwise they would be checked and posssibly changed at the next service at no charge to the customer.

20 out of 80,000 odd vehicles affected so pretty minor recall if you ask me. Good to see them being proactive and actually fixing it with a recall. Piston slap anyone?

Ford have a similar recall active for BFII models fitted with LPG built between November 2006 & July 2007. Service valve hand tap may fail causing a leak.

The problem with the ve v6 is the fuel line is rubbing somewhere ,which may eventually wear threw causing fuel to leak.

cars affected = engine bay fires, 20 brand new cars with engine bay fires, at fault of the manufacturer, is far too much.
i dont care if thats from 80,000 cars or 800,000 cars .


what i find a touch amusing is...they recalled V8's for a fuel line issue when they were just released, now they've recalled all V6 cars, the way i read that is, they made a major fault that affected all cars, and decided to recall them in 2 batches(V8 and V6).

faulty fuel line, faulty rear seat belts, faulty fuel tanks, faulty stability control, faulty seperntine belt tensioners, faulty front end suspension the list will go on and on and so is the ba/bf one.
