How to become a Moderator?

just for general discussion what is the optimal criteria for becoming a moderator???

A sense of fairplay
The ability to understand and accept others can have differences of opinion
A willingness to help
The ability to be objective
No desire to use a public forum as a personal sounding board

Those are not any sanctioned AFF criteria, but I think you'd find them close to mark for almost any well run forum.

Indeed mate, you put on quite a show there, I doubt anybody who witnessed it will forget it in a hurry.

I know personally it certainly made the trip down to AFD well worth it.

T'was a great disply though, the picnic rug flipping over from the sheer volume of air coming out the exhaust, the ladies getting the fright of their lives, the little kid that would have needed an underwear change and the 6" flames shooting out the exhaust were pretty good too!

Spot on the money..

For all the fun & bolloks that goes on in a place like this.. these are the most sought after character traits that any budding moderator can have.
The biggest thing I have personally learnt from my many years at the game is humility. You must put other peoples opinions before your own on 99.3% of the time. A hard ask on most days but it has to be done to keep the place humming..
If you don't have a community atmosphere on your forum then you have nothing...

Without a doubt the funniest thing I've seen for years.. I just can't get the the bloke out of my head.. His leg was in the air to take a simple step.. then bBOOM!! He froze on the spot.. looked around & said "Oh root that!" & took the long way around the front of the car..

Why don't you make it happen then? Nothing on these forums happens without a LOT of personal effort of the organisers. Don't wait for someone else to get the ball rolling, take the initiave and get it happening yourself.

I would say that i am a good example of what not to do... ask some of the mods and admins :angel:
I would say the main things that the admins look for in a moderator are
expirence
commitment
abiltiy to be unbiased
being helpfull, etc
