I had some spottys fitted and set up the switch so it was accessible, but not visable, down low in the dash.
Otherwise, get a genuine switch and place it where they were fitted in the factory in the Fairy or LTD.

 Seriously, though, many people go with the lower dash skirt, or in the centre console, on the side. Down to personal preference really, sticky tape it where you want it and go for a drive, see if it's easily accessible or annoying....

I've got 2 switches in mine, spot lights and aerial... one was already there (lower dash skirt near my left knee) when I bought the car. Works fine for me, but as mentioned up to personal preference.
