Default Another CV Performance & SCF Twin Turbo Monster!

well CV Performance and Craig Burns have once again teamed up and made one hell of a mark with PSIDUP a tiwn turbo Ford Cortina owned and driven by Daniel Nunziante. 417 cubic inches of small block Ford goodness, 69mm turbo's (to comply with Mod Street Blown rules, twin turbo cars must have turbo's under 70mm) and all this is done on a 28'' x 11.5'' tyre (29x11.5 is the maximum u can run)

the boys were out testing on Friday night doing some very lazy half track passes but still running mid 8's then comes Saturday morning we were out testing one of our own cars (2JZ Corolla broke diff at half track ran 8.7@129) and this beast of a car was parked opposite us. i spoke with Con early in the morning and he said today they were gonna run it out the back door and that got a few of us excited as the Mod Street Blown class of the APSA is the one we run in also. it's first full pass it went a 7.87@183, then a 7.81@183 then it went a 7.75@185 which places it at number 3 on the Mod Street Blown list (bumps us down to number 10 ) all this was achieved in only it's 6th ever pass down the 1/4 mile. helps having Craig Burns one of the best chassis guys in the business by your side look out for some even bigger numbers, bigger turbo's are going on and Daniel wants to see what she can do at Calder on November 20th.

here is some video of 2 of the runs.

Big congrats to Pazz for the number in PSIDUP. Impress to say the least and very well deserved, and not before time. Definately a lot more to come by the looks of it.

the engine was brought in from the US but CV has freshened it up and tuned it.

F6BF i don't think they hurt anything. one of the chutes didn't open on the 2nd pass and it could have ended badly. they may have told him to hit the brakes till he see's both chutes pop up

FLUB378 i'm sure they wanna crack the 200mph mark in the future, they have the right guys behind them. CV has 3 turbo cars in the 6-second zone. CV and Burnsy put together Campo's and that is the quickest thing Australia has seen in a turbo car and only going to get quicker.

i was gonna get some but it started raining and i left before i got it i was gonna do the whole video thing get the inside out and engine bay. gotta say the engine bay looks SCF does some fantastic work.

mickyyyy pretty sure he did, he had 2 Cortina's if memory seves me correct GASDUP and PSIDUP. PSIDUP is now a different kettle of fish, in Mod Street Blown you have to run factory style suspension (no 4-link, ladder bar etc) with very minimal chassis modifications allowed. the old Cortina's and Capri's are doing the Ford brigade proud, 4 Ford chassis's in the Top 10
Stu Henry 420ci Turbo Capri no. 2
PSIDUP Cortina no. 3
Chris Martin 454ci N2O Capri no. 7
Joe Geri 240ci Twin Turbo Capri no. 10

5 of the other 6 cars are Torana's

Just for the record, is there any modular engine powered cortina's out there? Imagine what a modular turboed engine in a light weight TC-TD cortina will be like!

the Corty was 3150lbs, Stu Henry weighs 3200lbs with his 420ci, we weigh 3100lbs with a 240ci aluminium Lexus V8. we have worked out we can get down to around 2800lbs with fibreglass guards, bonnet, boot and a 70kg lighter driver

no Ford modular Cortina's but there will be a modular Capri around this time next year, possibly sooner if we decide to throw my engine in the Capri we already have. there will be more than enough power to run a mid 7 if the chassis is setup right.

I have a good TE cortina shell waiting for a V8 transplant, but unfortunately due to the TE engine bay not having the same room as its earlier models, no modular engine will fit

the Coyote should fit in there a 4.6 might squeeze in there, i think we sorta did the math to put one in a TE which a mate has, but there was a bit of cutting to do.

Was thinking of a coyote engine transplant not long ago, how much bigger (wider/taller) is the coyote engine compared to the cleveland? My cleveland powered cortina was a tight fit, but looking at the photos of the coyote 5L, there has to be some serious cutting and modifying of the engine bay to fit one.

not yet still gotta prove myself in Australia with my own stuff, we haven't done anything here yet with a modular. we have helped a few people around the world but seems Aussie's don't wanna spend the money on the modulars we are working on a few thing's but over the next year we hope to be able to offer 500hp-600hp NA 4.6/5.4 combo's plus custom blown and turbo setups, CNC head porting for all modulars and 5.0 Coyote/Miami (everyday street port to full blown race port), custom SCT tuning

i got there on Friday just after the crash, we were walking up the path just as it was happening. i have a photographer mate who was shocked saying it was the worst he had ever seen, wasn't till i saw rotorg33ks video that i believed him.

5.0 runs roughly same size block as the 4.6, the Boss is a little taller not by much only a couple inches. the Coyote heads are physically smaller than the BOSS

y we turn u off the 1UZ?

if u wanted to stay all ally without going an aftermarket/hard to find block and wanted to stay Ford a 4.6 Stroker (4.9L) would be a goer, it will make 550hp and great torque.
