hey guys, new member, have a problem, battery has gone flat due to alternator not working. this is the known problem but prior to having a flat bat when i did drive around clutser woudl freeze although engine would still remain operational and normal. would the alternator problem have caused the cluster malfunction?
thanks |

Dont think it would be the alt doing this, its most likely just the cluster playing up. When it froze did all the dials freeze? did the LCD display also freeze? try removing the cluster and taking off the plastic face to make sure all the dials are able to move freely with a gentle push, sometimes the dials can rub slightly on the surface of the cluster causing them to stick.
More info would help mate. Good luck Will

Ive experienced faulty alternators to cause all sorts of unusual behaviour in AU's, mine while still Auto, started slipping in the trans, replace the Aternator all fixed, A lot of our cabs, (wilst au's were still) would have clusters play up or simply keep running and the stereo's would start cutting in and out ( this happened to my daily 2 week's ago on the way to work alternator faulty) So don't rule out this as the cause. Hope this helps. Later.............
