Hi all,
I am curious to know what will happen when i cop a flat battery. Because of smart lock, will the immoboliser completely shut down and not let me start the car? If true, what is the way you go about fixing it. Just preparing myself for that rain day when it does happen. thanks Bill |

Do you mean if you get the battery charged (jump started or whatever) or get a new battery will the car then start?
The answer if you mean above is of course it will, but I had to leave me key in the ignition for a certain amount of time before starting - dont know why, just what was told to do. But if you mean you want to start the car and battery is flat, then the car isnt going to start!!!!!!!!!!! |

It should start 100% Youll need the radio code
When you put the new battery in, drive the car like its stolen and the ecu will relearn itself good |

worst case would involve the smartlock (BEM) needing to relearn the key.
which as said above involves leaving the key in the ignition for 30mins.

Also, why do you have to drive it like it is stolen? I'm curious because i will be taking her up to malacoutta where my mate has a house, and from there we will be travelling north along the coast. Im just preparing the car from now so i can have it running sweet. All i mainly gotta do is change my rear shocks (otherwise i will be returning to melbourne with half an eb, I've never seen a driveway this steep. My mates Camry barely makes it) and i need to fix the trani mounts. Im hoping i just dont cop a flat battery while im up there. I've never changes it and i only bought the car a year ago. I'll try find the ladies fone number who had it before me, to see how long efore i got the car she put the battery in. But if it goes as it does at the moment, i shouldn't have any problems. Bill |
