Interested to see how Toyota's recent price gouging is going to effect sales. Looks like they are dropping based on their market share % dropping the past 3 months.
And also interested to see how it will effect Hilux sales after they raised prices on the new model. |

Triton lost ~1500 4x4 sales, Ranger looks to have picked up about 800 4x4 sales. Hilux probably picked up some 4x4 sales as well. I find the strength in Ranger and Hilux 4x4 sales interesting even with other brands that are loads cheaper, are sales just polarising or are the two groups just affirming the quality/ reliability of that premium pricing? Ford Numbers -
EcoSport – 0 Endura – 76 Escape – 8 Everest – 517 Fiesta – 15 Focus – 119 Mondeo – 4 Mustang – 145 Puma – 103 Ranger 4x2 – 272 Ranger 4x4 – 3454 Transit Custom – 68 Transit Heavy – 35 Nice work for the Ranger taking the top spot this month, although probably due to stock shortages at Toyota. Also good to see the Everest numbers are picking up.

8 Escapes??
Went and had a look at the Puma today. Bit small for mum but is a great looking car, this thing will sell. Have to wonder how long they’ll persist with Focus and Endura. |

Will be interesting to see how the Mustang holds on over the next 12 months, in hard times you would think items such as sports cars will not be a high priority.
Ute sales doing well, could be instant asset wrte off's from GovCo helping as well? There will be more of that to come I suspect. I hate to say it, but the sooner Ford cuts the Mondeo the better, a bit dejavu, and some of the others would be hard to justify holding parts and systems at that volume... If the Puma tanks then Ford needs to come to grips with being a SUV/ute and Mustang company only.

Puma seems pricey ? Should start around $25k not $31k. That price will get potential buyers into the showroom. If the ST Line is $37k then the ST V will be around $40k?
Too much competition out there CX3, Seltos, Venue etc...

Puma would have been Ford demos and dealer demos. I doubt they have "retailed" many at all.
Ford could sell more cars if they had stock. Everest Sport for example is in hot demand and pretty much sold out on the ground (waiting for more shipments). Mustang is also in short supply. I am currently waiting for mine which should be here late November / Early December. Ranger stock seems to have picked up again. Wonder how long before Toyota will buckle and do some attractive drive away offers on Hilux.

Escape needs more push.
Picked up a good deal on a demo for $25'990, not as well spec'd as our old titanium Mondeo, but quite comfortable and good to drive. Test drove a X-Trail and the Escape was far beyond in the interior department! Also rode better.

They have massively increased the instant asset write off threshold to $150k in the budget though still to be legislated.
It will be interesting to see how much of a difference this makes to sales figures. |

Hyundai Venue and CX3 in the same segment start off in the 20 thousands.. With the Puma topping out at $40K that's hitting Top Spec Small SUVs like Kona, Seltos, ASX and and upper mid spec CX-30s.. So its fair to say its overpriced. |

the trim they just call "Puma" is actually badged as Titanium in the UK. It's frustrating because Ford thinks the vehicle is good enough to sell itself but here's the thing, so many buyers just cross shop on line, they don't see "titanium" on the base trim and just assume it's an over priced base model ...like I did before looking further, sad to say that many will just skip it.
