18k was a fair price I think, not cheap by any stretch. Although I took my Capri for a drive the other day and when I came out of Bunnings there was a bloke waiting for me - he was throwing figures around a lot higher than that - I was adamant i wasnt interested in selling however in hine sight...........I should have got his number
 So I guess the moral is your car is worth what someone is willing to pay. My preference is for the Capri with the unusual combination - paint colour / interior colour and ones which have been optioned up - map light / spotlights / factory sunroof. These examples are the ones which will get the most in my opinion. V6's are a mile ahead of the 4cyl as far as market value but I had a 4cyl for 20 years and thought it was a great car for a pinch of the price... Paul |

hey wogboy....I bought mine in 1990
but a few things got in the way........... wife 2 kids 1x Eh Holden bare metal rebuild 1x green Capri that kept wearing out (now sth o' the border) half a dozen job changes numerous holidays in Oz and o'seas house extension BUT it was always lurking in the garage ...waiting, waiting.... ......and finally on the road in 2010 for the Muster. Clearly, I started young-ish and am now old-ish (on the outside anyway). And one daughter did benefit from it by way of 'arrival' transport for Yr12 graduation dinner (not a single other Capri turned up !!!) |

unfortunately my kids think any car older than 10yrs is junk and worthless and the 2 girls blatantly refuse to get in them cause its "embarssing"
lol they have no taste

My youngest thinks the '70 Capri is embarrassing ...full stop, no further discussion.
But is quite happy to cruise around in the bright red '77 Stag (esp. when roof is down !!!!). Trouble is, she looks pretty cool when doing that....uh-oh !! Currently eyeing off something Italian and no roof, but usual problem, need to make space. |
