Blokes based in Warwick QLD... They built them to transport dead bodies (as in people).

From what ive been told, the guy that builds them owns a Funeral Transport business, he designed them so he could fit bodies in the back aswell as refrigeration etc, that he couldnt do with a standard ute body / canopy..
He makes 2 designs, a high profile one, and a low profile one, I would like to see a a shorter one, e.g. one the same length as a standard body but all fibreglass. They seem to be pretty popular in the Funeral business as alot of Funeral guys were still runing XG/XH Panos!

Thanks for the guidance and the pm from gtblogger. My dream build if and when i get around to it is to put a
05-06 RTV LPG Panel van together. Imagine running a bbq of your gas tank when you go camping? Highly illegal but very handy. Ill contact the people listed in the thread. Thanks for help, grayhairs. |

Yeh I dunno. I reckon they look like the old F100 Ambulances.

I actually saw one of these PanelV's when I was in Sydney last Tuesday. I thought "WOW that's a mad lookin' van" It had Qld Rego too so that fits with the Warwick thing. I got a photo of it with my phone but it was at night so came out a bit blurry. (Apologies for the angle & quality of the photo, I tried to take it quickly without looking suspicious)
It's a real shame that Ford stopped making the Panel Van when the AU came out. Does anyone know why they stopped making them? These car companies and their silly decisions. |
