Exclamation 04 fiesta spedo fault :/

hey guys

my partner has an 2004 WP fiesta Lx and is having problems with the speedo....Every now and then the speedo will just die and then come back after a couple of gear changes or just by its self

also was going up the expressway and the speedo died and the whole car shut off

what would be the problem? Computer??

any help would be much appreciated!

Perfect timing for this thread.... Happened identically to my wifes WP whilst on her way to work on a couple of occassions... Have now replaced the speedo sensor and so far, it has been trouble free for the past 4 days.!

Oh thanks for the quick feedback guys good to see im not the only person whos had this problem.....should be an easy fix then didn't wanna have to replace the computer or something much more expensive

I've had exactly the same thing happen. And my reverse sensor has died

Technical Contributor: For members who share their technical expertise. - Issue reason: Ford couldn't fix my BlueTooth issue. This member posted a download link, with instruction, on how to do it myself. One week on, the unit hasn't played up once. Three different dealers told me to virtually 'Live with it.

Similar issue is common on the XR5 where the speedo dies and a few lights come on the dash.

Update- had the speedo sensor replaced and computer reset all working great now can actually do 110 with out the car turning off
