Default LT Focus TDCI manual shuddering when first using

Hi All

Looking for some advice, with the LT Focus, so when accelerating away in the mornings , there is shuddering and shaking of the car.

When I take my foot off the accelerator, the shaking shuddering disappears.

After approximately 10km the shuddering shaking dissapears.

Based on this odd behaviour, anyone has suggestions on what this could be?

I have had the CV driveshafts replaced on the drivers side and rechecked and no issues.

Looking to see if anyone else had the same issues.

Thanks

The description is a bit vague as to whether it is a driveline shudder or the engine not running smoothly until warmed up so perhaps a bit more detail would help.

Apologies the problem behaviour is vague.

The shuddering occurs only when driving the car after leaving it overnight.

The shudder dissapears after driving for a bit. happens only when accelerating.

When coasting there is no shuddering.

I am thinking its the engine mounts if anything?

If you are certain it isn't engine related (and you can test that by pulling over and revving the engine in neutral) then I'd be surprised if it were engine mounts as there would be no reason for it to improve even if they are fluid filled mounts.

Thanks for the replies,

So I sat in Neutral and revved the engine, and there is no vibration.

I guess best course of action is to take to a mechanic to diagnose it.

Just closing this off for the benefit of the community.

Replaced all Engine mounts and the Issue has dissapeared.

When I replaced the Drivers Side mount, its was noticeable, that it has colapsed, as we had to jack the motor up to get the new one fitted.

The others ones were showing signs of spliting, for completeness I replaced all for alot smoother running Focus.

Thanks @russellw for commenting on this thread.
