Hey guys...thought I would share my story.
For the last 2 weeks I have had the pleasure of owning a fiesta ! Managed to pick up a 5 door LX model, silver, december 2004 delivered, 9000kms on the clock, perfect inside and out for $13,500. Still has 5 months rego left. Got it from a bloke who moved overseas... do u think i got an ok deal? Anyways, I was an auto driver - but I have specifically learned manual just for this car....and let me tell you this thing is a pleasure to drive in manual! I love my fiesta...now just need to sell my old 1998 EL falcon :( Anyways, Im very interested to start modding it up, because I am getting WAY too many guys drive up to my car thinking there are women in it...tint and leather gear knob are first to come. What am I looking at in terms of $$ for the gear knob? Cheers guys. Sorry bout the long post. Just very excited! - Chris |

Hey Christo,
Welcome to the Fez Forums, Good to see that the fez numbers building. Sounds like you got an awesome deal. I would definitly go with tints and gear knob ( Tho i drive an auto and no tints yet) then exhaust. I think the gear knob is about $150 but i can remember, guys called Teki and Danny have em and there is also a post in this section outlining the knob. Btw, how old are u and where you from?? Hope your having as much fun with the fez as we are. Cheers Damo

Hey, congratulations!!!! Good luck with modding the fez. Can we get some pics up? But yea, you got a pretty good price i think.
The gearknob was $130 if i remember correctly, but i guess you can neg the price down...

Congrats Christo! Another EF/EL driver in a new fiesta! I can relate to having guys comin up next to ya to check out the hot chick driving tho. Its a pain, bad.
I got my Gearknob for $117.00 from ford a couple days ago. The post showing the pics of it is in a current thread in the fiesta forums, here. Looks great I reckon, and so comfy and classy looking. My Fiesta is also Dealer Ming tinted so that makes it look even better and I demanded it come with the Fiesta Aluminium scuff plates too ;) have fun modding it mate, lets see some pics soon ey? -Danny |

I will get pics up as soon as I can get a digi camera setup. Btw im 20 from melb. We should organise a Fez cruise sometime....now that would be mad. I will definately be getting the gearknob and tints done...not for another 2 weeks or so cos I have a credit card with my name on it...and it needs to be taken care of first lol. Thanks heaps guys, I look forward to becoming an active member. cheers chris- |

By the way...BEFORE anyone starts giving me crap about having to resit my drivers lisence test to get manual, I want to say one thing and one thing only.
At least I had the guts to recognise that a fiesta in MANUAL was a must, and that I was prepared to do anything to get it. lol respect |

Thanks man - Glad we both have our "respect".
Considering I have only been driving manual a cumulated total of less than 3 hours I think Im doing well...the fiesta is a very easy car to drive. I drove one in auto and I was wondering where the balls were? I couldnt find them? I tell you know Teki....a stock fiesta in manual has MORE balls than KENO....lol. Hey quick question for you guys...the power adapter cover keeps coming off too damn easy...is there a fix for this? cheers-chris |

id love to know where the word came from / or who came up with FEZ?
It sounds like something an " automatic " driver would call it.... |

I honestly cant remember who started calling the Fiesta a Fez, but im pretty sure it was used a few months back.
Fez is also the name of the exchange student from "That 70's Show". Teki what circumstances of mine do u understand??

Well mista. apart from having auto license wasnt it also pretty much bought for you and your family to use. so naturaly auto is the most user friendly transmission.
Think of it in a positive way, your the ONLY auto Zetec owner on the forums. You dont follow trends like those pathetic Colorado red LX owner's do you :P :king: |

Well just a few things to clarify
a)The car wasnt baught for me i paid for it by my little old self. Parents paid for the auto but i wanted a manual. They are old and are too scared to drive manual. there wogs what do u expect. b) I do like to classify myself as an individual and not be or do the same as anyone else. I always think out of the square c) I would not call Colorado red LX owner's pathetic except for " THE PIG". He is beyond pathetic. hehehehe d) Just because its an auto doesnt mean its not as fun as the manual, tho i havent driven a manual fez.

hey christo_fiesta glad to hear you love your car
I was in melb this week at RMIT for training. Seen heaps of fiestas mostly black and red (I think I'm almost the only vic driver with flare colour :P) with old people driving. But I did see 1 with dark tints and stickers black one on sydney rd in brunswick. |
