Default Cheap Diagnistic tool ?

Id like to buy a diagnostic tester for my 220kw Tickford 5 Litre. Just want to be able to search for fault codes and test sensors.

Is there an alternative unit to the Star NGS Tester? Do old NGS testers ever come on the market?

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

$$$ if you can find one...

Best way is with a laptop and a cheap USB scantool: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ELM327-V1...item19d5fa02c0

Then download FORScan from www.forscan.org (free)

It gets codes for engine + abs and airbags etc, and you can view/log data too.

if you have a laptop a cheap elm327 ob2d from ebay and the program 'forscan' is pretty useful. There's a thread here in the AU Falcon section. Think it's called something like scan tool.. I've posted there if you want to search on my posts.

beaten! teach me to open a thread and walk away for 30 minutes...

this is the only one I've come across that works with the AU as the AU isn't exactly OBD2 it is a special ford protocol called ford standard corporate protocol which is loosely based on OBD2
