Default Deer/car and high speeds dont mix!!!!!!

WARNING!!!!! This is Extremely graphic, don't look if you are likely to get offended.!!!!!

Just shows that deer/cars and high speed dont mix...... Well, it serves as a reminder to slow down when on the open roads, as i'm sure a kangaroo or cow could do the same damage here in oz.....

gross, ... how can the drivers seat be covered in blood if someone was actually sitting there and driving? and the rearr cargo carrier is covered in blood on the section that was lower than the back seat

I assume that car had an airbag but I notice that it hadn't gone off.

I think the deer impacted through the front windscreen and ended up in the boot.
Maybe the driverseat got covered from all the blood dripping from the roof. :

This one is on Snopes, to give some idea of what a deer does.

http://www.snopes.com/photos/durango.asp

Seems to be distinctly less blood etc. Most sus about the one above is the airbag not deploying, and the excessive distribution of blood. Me smell a fake.

I think that they are not designed to go off at high speed impacts. Imagine driving at 90km/h around a bend, you hit a roo going then the airbag goes off!!!

i believe an airbag is only designed to go off if the crumple zones wont absorb enough of the impact.
i dont think thats a fake either. if you look at all the pictures it tells its own story on what has happen.
look at the dear in the deer in the second and third pic. it has nearly been gashed in two.
it has hit the front of the car, lifted from the ground and hit the edge of the top of the windscreen. basically half the deer has hit the windscreen and broke it while the other half was above the roof and wanting to continue on over it.
from the impact here with the windscreen and the force of it all, it has sliced the deer allowing some of it to enter the car whcih is where all the blood and fur has come from.
all at the same time it is being pulled back out of the car by the moving mass of the rest of the deer trying to go over the roof. (notice the big chunk of meat on the steering wheel. this would be from the exiting of the vehicle)
with a hugh chunk of deer flab being torn into and then out of the car with severe force, it would be very messy blood wise, hence the state of the interior. (obviously not all of it left the car either)
as for the drivers seat, think about if you hit something and it is flying towards your head. do you just sit there and watch it kill you or do your reflexes naturally kick in and force you to duck down out of its way?

that's lot of blood for a tiny deer. a six foot roo wouldn't leave that much mess. the driver would have looked like he was playing "paint ball" :
venison, anyone?

Tis a bit suss, but;

1. Driver ducked when he/she saw the deer hurtling through the 'screen
2. That's a roll-out cargo cover, was probably rolled out at time of incident.
3. ...That's really feral...

Reading all the posts in the thread (took a while) and a touch of guessing it would seem to be genuine.

There was a car in front of this one that hit the animal and flipped it in the air (not hard to do... these guys should be thankful its not a bloody Sambar stag because they'd be dead if it was) which crashed into the car following it... the mess left behind is the result of the animal hitting the bonnet, getting cut in half by the A pillar and having half enter the cabin and the other half looks like its entered through the rear door drivers side window and landed in the cargo area.

The whole thing looks very real to me. A truly massive impact.

Definitely fake. No evidence of anyone sitting in the car or handmarks on the steering wheel, excessive amount of blood, skin and tissue from a small animal which appeared to only have a large chunk out of its' hind quarters and all the luggage in the back was very neatly in place. If you had hit that at speed I imagine your driving would become somewhat erratic and the luggage would have been displaced.

I love this quote in the original thread
"I think they hit a deer to cover up the 14 people they killed with a chainsaw...
That seems a little to much blood for one deer.... "

still stand by my first call:- Gross
