Default AU 1 V8 ABS light on dash

For no aparent reason the ABS light just started to come and go.
Ive removed all sensors and cleaned the dust and metal from them, also checked plugs/wiring to them and all seems ok.

Am I missing something? is there a fuse or something else or do I need to take it to Ford, get the computer plugged in to find a code and reset?

How do your brakes feel? Mine are very soft even after new discs, pads and bleed. I also suspect the ABS isnt working

Mine are perfect man ... And at the begining I didn't have ABS (had to lock up my brakes acouple of times due to stupid people). But now, after she got a good service they grip perfectly. .. You might wanna wait for JC or shoot him a PM. He'll know 100% and be able to tell you.

Mine does this sometimes. Only happens at crawl, only whilst turning and applying brake. Usually accompanied by a grinding sound thats felt through the pedal. But having said that, it doesnt do it every time. It was suggested to me as a faulty ABS unit (electrical), as my brake system itself is perfect. And functions perfectly too.

Either way, turning off the car seems to reset it on mine.

Get the ABS scanned for codes...it can only be scanned with a compatible scanner.

My ghia had the same issue, the linkage inside the abs module had broken and I sent it down to these guys from memory: http://www.absrepair.com.au/contact.htm

I managed to get the cheaper e-bay price however I think its normally about $250.

They replace all the linkages with better quality parts than were originally in there etc, if there's nothing wrong with the module, they just send it back minus the postage cost obviously.

Plugged it back in and the lights went away.

OK, through a process of elimination I've fixed the problem and you won't believe what it was.
Went to turn on my headlights last night and they started going off and on (down to low beam), played around with fuses etc and all ok, then I replaced the low beam relay and suddenly no more headlight problems and most importantly of all the ABS light is gone and it hasn't come back!
So there you go.
