no idea what the website is to be honest. Google will find it.
As for me going.. not a chance. I dont see the interest in stressing a car to the limits just to kill some tires.

IMHO the glorification of the burnout has been the worst thing to happen to the hobby of modifiying cars in the past 20 years or so and I reckon the blame lays with the media, Street Machine magazine in particular. Compare it to Hot Rod magazine in the US, sure they still show burnouts but they have also been instrumental in getting SEMA off the ground and establishing lobby groups to help governments understand the sport/hobby and protect the interests of those involved. Where is that same level of support in this country? Instead we have the general public thinking every modified car has a criminal behind the wheel and a chirp from a tyre is car out of control being driven my same maniac hell bent on destruction who has no concern for they're fellow citizens. : Still, I guess they're just in it for the profit and no one ever went broke appealing to the lowest common denominator. : or maybe I'm just getting old :

And no, I have never sat on a public road and smoked them up. Not once in my life nor will I. Its not from lack of being able to do them, most people are well aware my cars well capable, I just dont see the point. I do them at places like Heathcote and Calder (as they have a purpose) and I have been known to smoke the tyres while playing on a DECA skidpan (but never just a deliberate stand still burnout for the sake of doing one). If that means that I'm not a real enthusiast and not "into cars" than so be it.

I reckon the blame lies with a certain Black Mk111 Zephyr driven by a Mr. Peterson 30 odd yrs ago!

This was back before there was a burnout strip and they were using the closed off industrial area nearby. I seem to remember the loose straw falling from the haybales that seperated the public from the mayhem was causing some problems. Now as that was probably the first real burnout I'd ever seen that was impressive, everyone since then though looks much the same ;) PS. Any non-hoons that are into burnouts at sanctioned events no offense intended in my first post. Our hobby/sport is big enough to cater to all tastes.

Well, given that skidpanman and Big Tone both share identical IP address's with user Dragtag and another user that is an ex employee of Drag Tag has used that IP address in the past I think we can all stop playing dumb and see this as what it is.. commercial up selling badly disguised as innocent posting.

Wow
How strange it is all of a sudden we have members joining the site and working they way around into advertising Drag Tag. Please be aware that we have strict advertising guidelines on this site, so dont think these little games go unnoticed. User accounts will be banned and all drag tag advertising threads will be deleted.
