It would seem that Ford has decided to get Euro 4 compliance into some products ahead of time.
Customers of the Territory in N/A form can expect to see Euro 4 engine certification on all new SY MK2 Territories from August production.

Look's like they have been working hard on this, considering not to long ago the I6 was not going to meet Euro 4.

That is very odd considering its the old BF motor still... Why would you waste the money getting it compliant when you are implementing a new motor across the range just before Euro 4 cut off next year?
Seems to me they may have been caught out in releasing the MKII Territory outside the timing and have had to bring it up to Euro 4 spec to save face.

Ill bet Euro 4 for Tezza means the end of the 4 speed BTR box as well. Not just about passing Euro 4 with the engine they will be worried about the tailpipe emission number.
The old BF3 Wagon i reckon is stuffed, they keep building them until next year and then will cease, unless the Mondeo wagon completely flops which I highly doubt their will be no FG Wagon even if they are ready to tool one up. Strange they didnt not try Euro 4 on the FG first but I guess they are pandering to few big fleet orders for Tezza worried about emission numbers, especially considering there is no lpg one. Whereas 99% of BF3's would be E-gas.

Hrrm, interesting. Does this mean that certain products have been brought forward, or is the change so small (on the back of the recent calibration changes) it really was a no-brainer to do it? Perhaps they're trying to take some of the shine off the 3.0 SIDI Commodore when it is released...

I would think it has allot to do with rolling out certain updates in certain models within time frames and within allocated budgets.
Makes going to HQ for future funding easier when they've been able to implement new programs on older budgets. Makes future progams look cheaper Could be where they introduce Territory Titanium???? ;) |

Does this mean that the Alloy block for the I6 is shelved again? If the BF designed I6 in the Terry can be recalibrated to meet Euro 4 then, I guess we dont get the alloy?
Or was there never going to be an alloy block to help meet Euro 4? Im confused.

There was never going to be an alloy block for E4, the changes to meet E4 certification involved ECU and injector calibration, and catalytic converter changes, that was all.

By July 2010 all new cars sold need to eun euro 4 emission compliant engines. Ford got around it by releasing the FG prior to the July so they could run euro 3 levels.
