I know I am a pedant, but I noticed my last post had the wrong time coding. It was one hour out and showed the standard time, not the daylight saving time that is now current in NSW, ACT, Vic and Tas.
Is this something that the moderators can fix?

Very bottom of these pages tells you the time. Currently GMT + 11 hours = current Daylight savings time.

Still wish we could have daylight saving up here. But the cows don't know when to get milked and the curtains fade with the extra light :monkes:

i hate trying to tell time. im a hypochondriac and therefore think im dyslexic, so i dont believe i can tell time. i just try and be half and hour earlier for everything, and when i post on forums i dont even look at the time i posted cos it hardly matters after ive posted it.

Daylight saving works well for places that are closer to the poles than the equator.
If you look at the whole world and where daylight saving is implemented, has been implemented and now discontinued or has never been implemented you will find that almost all of the countries that observe daylight saving are a above cancer or below capricorn. Australia is very large and the relative lengths of night and day are quite different depending on latitude. Simply put, daylight saving will always be a pain in QLD due to its position and shape. There are now and always will be time zone differences between the eastern, central and western areas so having NSW/VIC/TAS different to QLD is no big deal. P.S. I found a map to demonstrate this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FileaylightSaving-World-Subdivisions.png |

I started this thread so long ago I forgot about it. I never thought that it would return as an avenue for frustrated banana benders to express their rage and prejudices. Lighten up boys.

In 1959 Sydney was a nice place with clean air and beaches not covered with needles. Almost everyone spoke english and those who didn't were learning so they could integrate happily with their new chosen country. There were not fixed speed cameras, random shootings, homeless people all over the place, home invasions, car jackings and people smiled. When you met a pretty girl at a pub she was actually born a girl and having a few too many beers did not mean you would wake up in hospital with your money stolen, a bruised face and a sore bum. Traffic was not a smash up derby and you could travel several suburbs in a couple of minutes not a couple of hours. Oh I see what you mean...... |

Lighten up boys, you watch too much tabloid TV. The Sydney you describe is not the one I know. I not sure what sort of pubs you visit either. I've only ever woken up with a sore head.

Id be willing to bet my left one that if NSW didnt have daylight savings most Qld'ers wouldnt have a problem with having it. As these past few very comical posts would prove. Dont get me wrong ive lived in brisbane for just over 10 years now and i love it, but god i miss daylight savings, most qld'ers who are that patriotic to sling crap at other states were most likely born here and havent lived with daylight savings and dont know how good it is. Each to there own.

Daylight saving is fine yeah right;
If you want to have daylight saving in Victoria have it in winter not summer getting dark at 6 pm in winter here in QLD but getting dark at 5 pm in Vic and who wants to (water the lawn of play golf at 8 pm in summer) the sun comes up and the sun goes all by itself just down leave it alone like we do in Queensland and what about WA Ive been to Halls creek in January and it gets dark at 4 pm in the middle of summer just let it happen |

seriously though, daylight savings is sweet IMO. party season starts when daylight savings does. and ends when daylight savings does. woot. nothing better than a balmy summer evening in december at 8.00pm with the light still around and a cold beer.
