yeah that looks nice as.... not sure the garnish would suit, what you could do is get a ghia garnish and spray the red and orange in it silver, they're not too hard to dismantle if you're careful and you'll end up with a result of full silver lights with the clear cover

Looks neat, shaved doors look schmick!!

I'd put the stock rear lights & garnish back on it, would improve it no end.

little push down rods on the top of the door, u can see them... they act like the door handle.. only problem is that if the battery goes flat or smart lock or remote dies how can you get in the car... no door locks... i wanna do the same to mine, but may also take out the body line. may keep a door lock just incase smart lock packs up or something, will make a small hole the size of the key so that it still looks clean

or...

step 1. buy a spare window from a wrecker (rear passenger window suggested) and keep it home in the garage.
step 2. kick the window in

shaved handles look different.
you definitely deserve credit for the dash paint as you've created something
that looks tasteful and factory where most people end up with a bloody awful clash of colours

Thanks for all the comments, i have been on here for a while,
Got my bro as he is a panel beater to do it, it opens by pushin the nobs down, heaps of people try pulling them up when getting into the car. Now i'm in the process of changing the boot garnish, i've moved the reverse lights into the tail light and am smoothing out the badges and the reverse light on the boot garnish with fibre glass, so the number plate is only left in. Also want to put cup holders in it but still keep it nice looking, you know. Any ideas, Was thinking under the cd player, maybe could fit one out of a hilux in cap, i would have to modify it a bit.

Looks good . I always say it takes balls to mod a car past bolt ons .

I did shaved handles on my XD 7 years ago and my XW 2 years ago

I had a old EA about 5 years ago and I disconnected the handles on it and had rods up through the window sills like you have but closer to the end of the door and hooked straight up to the door latch , Pull the rod up and that would open the door , very easy to do and great if you have central locking.

WTF?

It looks like a VP from the back, and for an EB, it is pretty untidy.

Poor Poor Fairmont. If he gets half of that, he'd be doing well. Just one question, how do you open the doors? Put the window down?

Hey people it's been a while. I end up selling the my pride and joy for $4000, I was pretty happy with that. The last thing that was done to it was the boot garnish. I hooked the reverse light into the tail lights. Then fiber glasses the lights and the ford and fairmont badges over so it was all smooth except the number plate. Looked different but I kind of liked it. Something unique you'd say. I never ended up getting it painted. Since I sold it I haven't seen it driving round. If anyone has some new pictures of let me know. Since selling the ford I've gone with buying a 4x4 rodeo and now am driving a gq patrol. Planning on going big with it. Thanks for all your comments
