ok got a fairmont ghia v8 and after replacing the fuel pump i left the steel cover off it and my hayman reece towbar end went and broke my top fuel pump cardy, anyway i got another tank out of a normal falcon i think and i've put that in, my fuel gauge seems to read correct but my km's to go doesn't, just after the red light comes on im on 0km's to go. used to be accurate as, in fact i was driving along one day it hit 0 and under a km later i was stuck on the side of the road.
So are the senders different in the tanks? I would have thought that if they were my fuel gauge would be wrong but it seems to be correct. |

Tanks and associated electrics are all the same across the model variants. So any SWB sedan tank is the same as any other sedan tank, wagons the same as any wagon, etc.
The DTE can take a little while to catch up sometimes.
