Why are we not satisfied to have our on people on show instead of trying to import washed up has-beens (example Meat Loaf) or people who should be in a mental institution (see link)?

As for Meat Loaf (listen to Bat Out Of Hell Album)...that entire crap in the stands of the MCG...I don't know if I should laugh or cringe. |

Supercars understand this - which is why they enlist Cold Chisel for the NSW street event. Holden also saw fit to get Jimmy on board for their farewell party.
I understand where you're coming from, but look at the intended audience. How many people attend a Supercars event, and like Cold Chisel, AC/DC etc? What demographic goes to a glammed-up horse race? What are their tastes in music? The promoters are looking at what will give them a maximum return on investment - sometimes they get it right, other times not so much. But I'd be willing to bet their "advisors" did the research & worked out a short list of who they wanted, and I doubt any hard rock would be on there. Olivia & Farnham - fair enough, they would be quite appropriate for the target audience too - but if it was only aimed at Australia. The Melbourne Cup has many supporters/interested parties globally - particularly in the middle east, and some in the US too. They probably haven't heard of either. |

I am sick and tired of the tone of the ridiculous assumptions and claims you make time after time after time. Happy that I bit? **** off.
