Picked up a 99au11 fairmont wagon about three months ago from a dealer.
128k on the clock, excellent condition inside and out and no apparent mechanical problems at the time. Paid $9700 for it (3 year/175k warranty) I hunted around for a while and this seemed like reasonable value (any opinions). I have the usual complaints, sticky window buttons, fading displays missing digits, etc but all in all really happy. I have however found that I have a heavy clunk which I can feel through the floor from the front suspension if I hit a small bump or pothole. I read somewhere?? that there was an inherent design problem with the AU front suspension, is this correct?? thanks |

It would have to be a 2000 model for a AU11. Never had any issues with a AU suspension. Their a good reliable car. Even though I don't own one now I highly recommed them as a reliable daily driver that gives good performance for what you would pay for one.

AUII get the sunglass holder in the roof and 99 would be AUI I think. The price is a only fair, really full retail you would want to get them to fix the lcd display and the upper front ball joints which wil be the clunk. The warranty is usually a total rip off they won't fix anything except the engine, gearbox or diff and then only by replacing it with a secondhand one from a wrecker.
