Sweet, i am just wanting to play about and see what works better.. placing the screen down the bottom and having a "generic" thing at the top or get the ford one and leave the screen at the top and all that!

it just makes it hard to put the screws in to hold the front facia of the center dash in.. and it is beginning to rattle due to the weight of the indash dvd and the screen etc..

so i am looking @ ways to fix it..

I think it might be this...
ER 18846 A1 ESCUTCHEON RADIO, DK GRAPHITE - BASE RADIO, FORTE $11.20
From memory they only came in one colour, so hopefully it's the right colour for the TL.

They are all grey but Septone matt black plastic & vinyl spray is a damn good match to the black interior of the AU.

Mattp's on the money, that's indeed the correct part #. They only come in grey so Septone comes to the rescue again with the plastic and vinyl paint. I did mine (MP3 install soon to come), it didn't need priming and came up a treat.

Mine cost $20.

All the best with it.

I don't think the Ford "pocket" will sit flush if you're going to put it in the upper half. Then again, if you reversed it (turn upside down) it could get interesting. Picked one up the other day from Bayford (Campbellfield) for $17.95. If you go to Werribee Ford they'll source it from Bayford. Make sure they don't mark it up. The only disappointment with these "pockets" is the curvature of them to match the original ford single din unit. Aftermarket HUs, DVDs etc have a straight edged face to them. I've kind of got round that problem but am looking to perfect it more.
