hey dude,

im in NSW and im on my green Ps, its a sinch i failed 1st time only because i was sweating so bad but i nailed it 2nd time, just remember to look at ur speed always, look over ur shoulders and always check ur mirrors cause they watch you do this alot

FGX-351 21-12-2005 01:57 AM

thanx man, ill try and keep all that in mind, im just tryin to over come nervousness lol

Yeah here in WA we have a prac test to get a logbook and Phase II learner's permit. I was absolutely packing my pants and drove the worst I've ever driven. Once I'd finished I thought about it and realised what a douche I'd been hahaha. It's easy as, you'll be fine hey. As the other guy said, check mirrors and make it an obvious check, dont just use ure eyes...one of my mates got pinged for it. Also if you use a 4WD don't think it's ok to nail a few kerbs here and there with the instructor there, they don't like it much hahaha. Also if a lane merges 2-1 then check blindspot, I got busted for that one. That's about it mate, good luck with it!

and indicate pretty much everywhere :P

I passed mine first time :D and got 100% for it, no mistakes... only took 20 mins aswell

that's enough of my bragging :P

I was really nervous though, sweating a lot and it didn't help in a leather interior car on a hot day with the windows only a little bit open

good luck anyway

tell all when you know how u went...

FGX-351 21-12-2005 02:59 AM

all im having trouble with is reverse parks and hill starts aswell as a now and then bumby take off:$ lol can i failfor any of those things?

1972capri 21-12-2005 03:04 AM

Keep both hands on the steering wheel (except when changing gears of course)

You get 3 goes at reverse parking. So I hope you are not too bad at them.

And use your mirrors. Be seen using them, like moving your head so its obvious you are looking in them. Cos the instructor cant see your eyeballs moving.

Good luck. :)

FGX-351 21-12-2005 03:07 AM

can i fail for stalling?

1972capri 21-12-2005 03:14 AM

They give you a couple of chances. They are a bit strict but they also know you will be nervous.

Generally you will fail if you obviously are not that good. And if you are not being safe.
Its not a hard test, just nerve wracking.

FGX-351 21-12-2005 03:18 AM

true, thanks for your help

xurbanx 21-12-2005 03:34 AM

wish you the best of luck mate! :] i can relate to the nerves bit :p but like others have said, make it an obvious check (often too not once in a while), indicate, stop at least 3 seconds at a stop sign.

i got roughly 96% deducted points for not head checking often ><

Grechie 21-12-2005 04:29 AM

best of luck man

gazzaEBXR6 21-12-2005 05:51 AM

if you got a car that looks and sounds like you worked it a bit dont use it for your test they will pick on you and class you as a rev head well i dunno about over there but they gave me hell when i used my EB i had to get a inspructors car i passed first time when i didnt use my car

deesun 21-12-2005 11:47 AM

Always look over your shoulder when changing lanes, leave indicator on until all of the car is in the lane, when at a roundabout make sure you KNOW where all the other cars are going before proceding as any change of braking or direction will lose you marks. Go slower than slow in areas where there are dangers ie pedestrians, couriers, cars reversing, especially kids playing, Good Luck

LTDHO 21-12-2005 11:58 AM

Sam the licence is easy to pass. Relax and just go through the processes. Before you know it there is a P on your window!

FGX-351 22-12-2005 03:06 AM

GTFORDMAN 23-12-2005 03:28 PM

just remeber that this is the season that cops will be merciless towards 'P' Platers and on the look out for them, so dont get to use to resting that right foot on the floor ;-)
