Well said doc. Stand your ground when you feel you must... but dont be an ******* about it...
Also, I think the "nice guys come last" thing is a short term outlook. Whilst it may appear on face value that the 'nice guy' misses out on opportunities (in the realms of work, investments, romance, whatever...) because the 'tough guy' walks all over him (the 'early win'). Wait and see what eventually comes around to both parties...
