Depends on what you want to do. I personally learnt to read music first. Things like ba ba black sheep etc, just so you know what notes are what. Learn the octaves, how to get to the same note elsewhere on the fret board.
Then learn the basics chords (wild thing, highway to hell etc easy 3/4 chord songs)
It all depends how far you want to go.
I have not played for ages... I could still pick it up and play a few old things and read musical notes with a bit of difficulty. It depends on how much time and effort you are willing to put into it.
I have also read that there is a strong link between mathematical and musical talent.. you wouldn't happen to be an accountant would you?
