My Father in-law has just come home and said that he was pulled up by a cop telling him that his brake lights were out. He has a 2000 AU2 Fairlane and is wondering which fuse it is because there is no diagram showing the brake light fuse.
Thanks for any help... : |

it should just unscrew and unplug, then put a new one in...if that doesn't work check all the globes, and/or check at the bulbs for voltage

unplug the switch, get a jump wire and bypass the switch, if the brake lights come on, its 99% the switch.

It'll be the switch amigo, relatively cheap part just fiddly, AU's are prone to them I've done 2 in mine already.

My manual states that fuse 15 and relay 2 in the dash fusebox relate to the tail lights.
Fuse 15 is bottom row, 4th from left (blue). Relay 2 is the leftest and lowest relay (black). Maybe check those before doing anything else? Remember to get your radio code and disconnect the battery before removing them.

No real need to disconnect the battery to pull the fuse or relay for the brake lights, the circuit isn't live unless the ignition switch is on.
