Just wondering how many of you have used either an aftermarket or modified a factory heat shield for their pacemaker extractors?
The only reason I ask is that I need to put one on my headers to protect the water 2 air intercooling setup I have planned. I really dont want to get an aftermarket one made. Id rather modify the factory shield to conform to the headers I already have. So who here has done it? Can you post up pics?

I know there was a group buy on fordmods for stainless steel extractor heat shields which were big enough to house pacies.
Was a few months ago

You can buy the heat shield in sheets from most speed shops ACL make it, it bends easy enough and can be cut with tin snips and will mould to all most any shape you like

Thanks Whoosha. Thats basically what I was looking for. Might see if Sprints or Autobarn sell it. Do you know what this will cost roughly?
ayeyew - I sent the OP a PM about it. Not sure if I will get a response of not. I like the look of what he did, but Im not keen on paying that much. The cheaper alternative is like what Whoosha has shown. I think I'll be doing this. Thanks fellas.

I used the factory heat shield - fitted with no issues at all. Mine are not pacemaker brand, but appear to be knock-offs of the paccie 4499s.

Whoosha does that have to be drilled and bolted on there? It looks like that one just sits in a grove.

I have the 4480 pacies, not sure if the stock heat shield will fit over those or not.

The 4480's come out a fair bit further than the 4499's do. I only fitted mine on Sunday and there is not a hope the original heat sheild was gunna fit. |

Yeah iwas tempted to try and cut mine up a little to make it fit but the idea
of having a dodgy looking heat shield over top of my nice new ceramic coated headers just didn't seem right. lol |
