Noticed these ones recently and thought they were pretty cool. Pity they're not making them over here, it'd be a good excuse to buy another car to display them one

Looks like they've been recalled though, rego check shows no longer in use.
Theres a 70's Capri that gets around here with the plate CRAPI on it, been on there for years. Apart from obvious offensive combinations I think its just a case of issue it and recall it when someone complains.

Was driving, couldn't get a pic.
Dodge Ram. 815 ORN (Big Horn) I was stuck in traffic following him for about 10 kays, I eventually figured it out.

Unusual for a French car owner to spend money unnecessarily.
![]() I sometimes see one of the Mitsubishi badged early Renault Trafíc vans delivering around my area. It has plates that say LAL13N - “The alien” in French. |

NSW is a rort with plates. Id love a simple Ford design like Vic has with the Ford badge and Ford insignia on the bottom (id remake my current plates with it, they've been on my ute since new). But NSW couldnt work that out sadly, we do have FPV plates (but they are no good to me). Also if you know, you know. RIP Debo. ![]()

Back before we used to be spoilt in Wa with 9 digit plates there were some good ones around, if you visit the Perth airport carpark the FIFO COB's have a wide range of funny plates these days
There used to be a Silver VK SS Group 3 around the eastern suburbs with TI3VOM which was pretty cool, I got YEH RIGHT for the wife afew years back as that's her favorite saying, managed to get RSPECD for the BF which I was pretty happy with too, also have some options for the VK once that gets on the road again - one day ![]()

In 1970 the local Chemist brought a new Fairlane, got general issue plates with his initials KRH 000, his name was Kevin Robert Hall.
I don't know if in Victoria you were able to reserve general issue plates or he knew someone. |

My brother had a Honda NSX, and when the 'N's were issued in NSW he watched, found out where the NSX series were being issued, fronted up and requested a change of number plates. He then rocked "NSX 3.0L" thanks to a strategically placed and purely decorative black bolt head.
I had to pay for mine because it was issued out of sequence, I think his were free because his new plates were in sequence and perhaps the old ones were 'damaged' ... |

On the subject of free/standard issue plates the shire of Murray in south west have "MY" followed by numbers, bumped into a bloke who got his hands on MY308 for his VN GPA, his mates got MY302 and MY351 for themselves after they started to reissue early numbers a few years back
I took my old VK Director over the pits and got free issued 1COY308 - I did ask them if they still had 1COY304 as it was a 4.9L but they had already been issues to someone the day before, not the best plate photo but the hard is caput ![]()

Then, great idea, charge $hundred$ and a yearly fee for individual ego strokers. We have had our 2 el-cheapo personalised plates for about 35 years , on a variety of cars. Helps when someone wants your rego plate number, I don't have to go and look at my car to find out. |

We have 3 sets of plates, paid for once and that's it, I think we have it good here, no annual inspections, compulsory 3rd party insurance included. Would be interested in a annual cost comparison for registration around the country and what it covers you for? |
