Hmm, Spoke to Laminge about it at length going back a couple of years and he had looked at doing it himself and said it was a very costly process in terms of dollars, time and modifications. Ill search my PM's and see if I kept it.

Brett.
Mate, If you spent all that time cutting and pasting quotes to make yourself look like a peanut, you have succeeded.

I've owned Boss engines as well as Windsors, there is no comparison. The only 2 things a Windsor has going for it that's worth talking about, is size and weight. Size is essentially unimportant as long as it fits. Weight will be fixed when the market eventually gets readily available alloy wet sump blocks (for less than the price of what it takes to get a windsor bottom end to a decent base strength specification anyway).

Everything other than that is a negative for the little pushrod.

This thread is about Fad's. Nobody that I know of has put a Boss 5.4 into an AU, and the only Mod motors ever put in was by AEC, with their Sprintex 4.6 300+'s (only 2 made that I know of). I drove the black 4 door with Jay Upton in the passenger seat when I went to look at buying it (the only reason I did'nt was he could not guarantee airbag functionality with AEC's own ECM, therefore I could not register it). I tell you now, That thing was awesome. Ford made the biggest mistake of all time not fitting their own (supercharged) 4.6 Mod motor into AUII's. AEC wanted to pioneer that engine to production for Ford, But Ford were too dumb. So we got the next best thing.

The T3.

Good, but just not as good.

The Windsor was an excellent 1960's production engine, and its 40 year life span will far outweigh Mod motor life span. It's just that right here, right now, it's not as good as the Boss.

Daniel.

There was an AU3 XR8, silver, had red bonnet with grafted bulge, was the test mule for BOSS engines. Handmade engine mounts, very rough exhaust etc. Got crushed a looooooong time ago, but proof it can be done.

Maybe you should have highlighted "AU" and made in 24 point font. Some of those guys can't read.
