Hey guys.
I went to do a first oil change since taking ownership last weekend but some f'wit had already rounded my sump plug, but was just thinking if it was common to replace em with an aftermarket one? Its an AU1 4.0 and its the first time ive come across a brass, allan key type plug, which is why I was wondering about replacement. Should be fun getting it off ![]() Cheers. |

you can get standard ones with a magnet moulded into them off ebay, but i've never seen one like what you have described...on the other hand, i guess it makes it harder if someone wanted to dump your oil without you knowing

Lol yeah it happens all the time where people get under your car and remove your sump plug for petty vandalism... or does it?
They ought to be pretty cheap from Ford, otherwise you can get the ones off ebay, people have had mixed results. |

Better to have the thread on the plug go than the thread in the oil pan. This is common for this reason, alot of people overtighten too.
