Default 165 V2 Focal Splits in AU Front Doors

G’day All,

Has anyone installed these splits into an AU? They’re 72mm deep according to their website specs. This would mean about a 20mm thick baffle to mount them on otherwise the magnet would interfere with the window guide. I doubt whether 20mm would fit between the door trim grille and the inner door skin. I’m aware Focal make a slim version that’s 62 mm deep but you’re sacrificing less Hz range and lower wattage RMS at a greater price.

Cheers,
Rob

Yeah I'm reading ya, Jamies set up looks sweet. May have to go that way but my initial intention was to keep it stealth. Thanks for your input.

i have intsalled them in an au before and all i did was tear the spongy bit behind the speaker off, just enough to fit the speaker then i just put 10mm nuts as spacers. and no dramas a year on.
