cant see what else it would suit. 347 is pretty much the standard 5.0l stroker kit

Id also consider a 331 stroker kit for the windsor, less problems with pistons & rings.

It would run fine mate, with all the factory stuff, though, a retune and a cam swap will make it better.
But for all the work, you might aswell plan it well and do other stuff to it while its apart, unless your happy to just increase the cubes and nothing else. |

In a way I guess I am just chasing more torque than anything, and have heard that the 331s are torque monsters (but then so are 347s).

most stroker kits are 28oz imbalance, where the 5.0's are 50'z....
so you'll need a new harmonic balancer and machined flexplate.........factor at least 1000 for balancing the stroker, machine work on the block for clearancing / 030 overbore. then everything else you need - like cam, valvesprings, roller rockers, maf, injectors, main girdle, timing chain set. etc the $1300 stroker kits start to become not very cheap. people think that...hmm...stroker kit is 1300, shouldnt cost much more than 200 - 300 bucks and its fitted........its really not the case |

Could be suited to a carby engine thats why i asked, im unsure of the differences between carby and injected stroker kits if any at all. you dont need to go too full on with hipo parts if your not chasing more than 400hp. So does anyone know if they suit carby or injected?????????

so im tipping he wants to know so he can use it in his injected motor. yes it'll work in a late windsor... what brand crank/rods/slugs are in the kit? the things i said to do in my earlier post should be the same for just a cubic capacity increase or for a hipo motor...........you really need to do it for the longevity of your motor |

Why stop at 347? From memory you can take it out to 388 ci.

I saw the ad in the new street machine, rpm usa cast steel crank, rpm usa h beam forged 3d rods, flat top hypereutectic pistons, race series thin groove rings, main, cam and big end bearings.full felpro gasket kit. I would love to build a 347 for my au. apart from machining i can do everything else my self so i reckon that i could save a bit on labour, wots this i hear about problems with piston clearances with valves, did i hear right beacuse my memory is really bad[ i have CRAFT]

For all you blokes thinking about stroking your 5.0 litre, may I suggest a book for you to have a read of. How to build big inch small block fords by George Reid, about $40.00, at your local automotive bookshop. Should give you all the info you require. Hope this helps you all.
