Its called a Stillson Jaw Pipe Wrench, as I suggested earlier its probably your best bet. If you get desperate drop the sump and drill it out on a bench.

The filing until he can get a good open ended on it is probably the safest first option though!

Then I'd go for the cut slot and large (read humongous) flat blade screwdriver option.

Welding would be the last option I'd take, but hey I'm not a welder!

use ezy outs done it to my pursuit when i brought it took bout 10 mins

Guys.. I cant stand it anymore.. theres about 3 million suggestions here and, to be honest, if one of them doesnt work, burn the car cause its going to drive you insane.
