On the weekend I drove my car at night for the first time in a while and noticed my parking lamps and dash lights did not want to work. Is there a fuse that controls both of these?
Maybe someone can point me to the right tread or let me know what to do? Cheers

Yes there is a fuse that might be blown
If you have a towbar you might blow it by putting a trailer with faulty wiring on Or if the electrical connector for the towbar has come off that would cause a short (I did that in my EL) All sorts of wierd problems like parkers flashing with the indicators etc. Try changing the fuse first off and see if that fixes it |

Any idea of where to get a fuse diagram of an AU XR8 from? I'm not too sure which fuse to replace.

I'd bet that your tail lights are out as well (dash lights always seem to be on the same circuit as tail lights - although having said that, I haven't checked the AU yet, I could be totally wrong). Check the tail light fuse.
Do you have an owner's manual? I'm sure the fuses are outlined up the back somewhere.

Yes just sequentially go through all the interior fuses
Otherwise there is a diagram in your owners manual I would imagine that tail lights are on the same circuit it just makes sense. |

Jeez Ford, I reckon most new buyers would be happy to pay an extra 10cents for that "luxury" item... |

Can someone post up a copy of the fuse designations and sizes. for an extra 10 cents Ford could have put a sticker on the fuse box lid like every other car I have ever come across

I found the broken fuse. It was the tail lights. What can short out these? Does this effect the curcuit of the Dash Illum, parking lamps and tail lights? Because all three have gone out because of this fuse.

could be a number of things ... as mentioned it could be the connection to trailer connection loom ... could have just had a fuse fail though.
If it does it again straight away (or when connecting a trailer up) ... get an auto elec. to check it out (better to be safe than sorry).
