does anybody on here see there old cars still driving around, i sold my ford escort 2years ago and had only seen it once, about a week after i sold it within 2 years. Until tonight, i seen the rego and thought i knew that car, then i worked out that it was my first car, he was at a servo so i pulled in for a chat and i was shocked with what i had seen.
the guy who brought the car from me, went through a red light and t-boned someone, from there it went downhill. alot of parts were broken, the soundsystem was ripped out. the paint is in really bad nick with scratches and dents and crowsfeet all through it. the wheels are covered with dirt and grime. within 2 years it went from this: to this:(sorry bout pic, taken on phone)

All the time! Though selling it to a friend might have something to do with that...

I have never seen any of my previous cars after I have sold them thank god.
No one can ever look after them as good as you do. I think it has something to do with the work and money you put into making look and go the way it does. |

I seen my first car driving around, my little bro and the old man bought it off me. Wont see it driving around anymore due to a big yellow sticker that got stuck to it. With what they did to that car though they were askin for a canary.
Also see dads ba xr6 driving around a fair bit. Dad used to have a pretty scmick XE, and a few years after he sold it we saw it driving around, i think dad almost cried at what he saw, it was trashed. |

see my old ride daily drives past my house and down the shopping centre all the time
i hate seeing them though because you either sell em and see it still really nice and think"damn why did i" and others you think "wtf did they do to my baby" so yeah seen 1 or 2 old rides floating about. |

I would love to find my old EF V8 fairmont. Sold it to a guy in Sheperton in 2000. The Exwife made me sell. It has a very mean engine in it. I would buy it back in a blink of an eye. Here is a pic of it.

I see my dear old XD driving around and I feel angry and guilty at the same time. I sold it to an apprentice at work who was almost out of his trade and I thought "He should look after henry", and he did until he sold it to the 1st year apprentice who has NO IDEA! He fitted extractors and a 3" system (although it already had a 21/2" system), then fitted 3" lowering blocks and superlow springs, 12 slotters up front and standard wheels out back(so it looks like he does burnouts) He has fitted a woggy wood steering wheel and wound back the front seats and drives around playing crap rap music with no shirt on! My poor old car deserves better!
I knew I shoulda kept it and fixed it up!

I saw my old XE about 18 months after I sold it. It had a chrome passenger mirror from a fairlane added (for towing legalities I spose, as it had a towbar), and the little rust dots on the bonnet from stonechips had been primered but not painted, so it kind of looked like Norman Gunsten. But it had a nice retirement, it was being used as a work car travelling 10km each day and garaged at night.
I chased the owner on foot down the street, T1000 style, to get this info :P |

The only car i have ever sold went to Melbourne, and was hit head on by a truck while parked. I sold it through a mate, so im sure to see pictures when its all done. Its been painted black, and the interior all re-done. I don't particuarly care how it turns out, because im sure he'd be as upset at seeing the condition of the bike that he traded me for :

I've spotted all 3 cars that I've sold. My VH wagon was bought by a young family who looked after it pretty well. At the time, 2000, it had just on 500,000 km on it. Saw my Subaru a few weeks ago looking better then when I owned it, and I looked after it. Followed my VS wagon last week and it also looked better then when I owned it, even fixed the dent on the RHR door. The last 2 cars I owned while liveing in town houses so a bit hard to wash them and garage them. The rest I've scrapped.

A long time ago I traded a Tarago (insert embarrassed cringe here). One day about 2 years later I was sitting in traffic near my work and glanced beside me and there it was, looking the same as when I had it. But then, over the next few weeks, I thought I was being stalked by the new owner or something as it kept turning up wherever I went! My work is nowhere near where I live and then I saw it at a couple of different shopping centres nowhere near me. Then to top it off I did see it in my estate a couple of times. After that I stopped seeing it though, so maybe I wasn't as interesting to my stalker anymore.

i sold my VH a while back now. was a very sad thing to do, i spent loads on it, had a huge following on the net, loads of people (holden people) knew of my car. the guy that bought it was a fanatic and his comp screensaver was pics of my car lol. he takes better care of it than i did. hasnt changed a thing since i sold it to him. i was glad that i passed it along to someone who was going to take car of it.
also, i bought another VH when i was 13, $300 job. resprayed it white with blue pearl, changed the dizy which got it running. tidied her up a bit, sold to a car who fell in love with the car (he was doing our fence at the time) he offered me $3000 and i sold it. seen it the other day for sale, side moulds peeling off, oil dripping, $1200 lol. |

The previous owner of my ED fairmont sees it all the time, as I bought it from my neighbour when it was only 3 years old. His wife was unsure as she drove it most, she thought I'd trash it, cause i owned a V8 ute.
Now I think he is glad, because all these years later it looks and drives way better than most other ED's. He likes to hear how many Kms it done now (260000) and how the motor has never needed to have any work done yet. I don't think he minds it's now wearing lowered springs, clear indicators and a sports exhaust. I don't wash it as often as he did, but it still comes up nice when washed, poly green always looks good clean.

My brother's mate bought mine and I used to see it regularly but the person I sold it too has totally ****** it that's for sure!
His loss because he got a reliable car and has ended up costing a lot for the hoon factor. |
