Ok i have an AU1 Forte and the diff is stuffed, can i put these diffs in it.
(this is from disc to disc so its the lot) 1. Diff out of an xr6 or 8 2. Fairmont 6 or 8 3. Fairlane 4. Any other model Ford Any help would be really great. this forum hasnt let me down yet |

it CAN NOT be an IRS vehicle..
which rules out fairmonts..fairlanes.. and VCT XR6s(XR6 HPs are the same as forte rear end) and XR8s probably easier to get yours rebuild with an LSD

I have a Fairmont, ans no IRS. Maybe its just the ghias??

99% of Fairmonts had Live axle, the IRS was an option rarely taken up.
Fairmont Ghia's had it standard.

No Josh as was already posted you can't fit an IRS diff as a straight swap.
What you can do is fit the XR6 HP diff, but to do that you will also need the matching diff housing.
