Hi All,
Just after some opinions.... I've just bought another car which has an AU leather XR steering wheel fitted. In my opinion it looks terrible against the grey of the rest of the interior, so was thinking of either selling it or putting it in my AU. I'm wondering though, does anyone have a black leather wheel in a charcoal interior AU? I'm just not sure if it would match well? Pic of wheel in link below. http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...t/IMG_0537.jpg Thanks, Justin.

Thanks for that HLC, looks very nice and blends in really well!
If it was a ghia one I would absolutely throw it in my AU, but I'm thinking that the perforated style might look a bit silly in my AU Futura wagon.....

But like you, the interior in my S2 SR is the charcoal (the new black LOL!) so it looks great. http://www.fordforums.com.au/showpos...5&postcount=52 http://www.fordforums.com.au/showpos...1&postcount=59 I'm after a light grey one though for the S1 Futura. There are plenty of black wheels around, but almost none of the light grey. That's been the challenge to date, getting one that isn't going to cost me my arm, that's the correct colour and in great nick! The search continues! The black looks odd against the grey airbag, but you can paint the airbag black to match. That would look a bit better. You buy it in a spray can at SuperCheap, its a Vinyl paint, Septone brand IIRC. You could try that first and then decide. GK

Well, I'm going to pull the wheel out of the EL on the weekend, and see how it looks in the AU. I'll post some pics up.
Thanks for all the pics and advice everyone, been very helpful!

I reckon the black wheel would look odd against the grey airbag. Black wheel and black airbag may look ok against grey interior, try it and see. As you have it already, you'll soon see when you swap the airbag and wheel combo around so it's all black. I don't have the $ to buy a black wheel to check, so I'm still in the hunt for a grey leather item from a Series 1 AU. Post us the pics when you test your combo out! Cheers, GK

LOL!
The AUII/III XR's come out with the Warm Charcoal interior too, so of course it's going to match.

I did notice it a little so basically the charcoal interior got some hi gloss tyre gel applied to it which is pretty dry. Now it's jet black

Not sure how close the Fairlane wheel is compared to the XR one but this might give you an idea.
