Default aircon compressor

hi guys
Not the best time of year to be without it.Aircon compressor packed
it in on the way home from work today.Could anyone tell me were i could
find one in Brisbane.Rang two places and have been quoted between $600
and $800 to replace and fit.

Try this place mate.Can look up the part # and price up the compressor. They have a couple branches in Brisbane. Maybe you can purchase compressor new and just pay labour to fit and gas might save a few $$$$.. A VT commodore pump i priced new from there was $350 a couple weeks ago as an example..

Part #'s are CM1200 for 98-01 and CM1760 for 01-04.

Newstead or Windsor seem to be the closest will give them a call tomorrow
thanks again.Is it possible to replace it myself or is it going to be a problem
dumping the gas

I just had a second hand compressor, new receiver/dryer and a re-gas for a grand total of $500.90 on the south side of Brisbane at Browns Plains within the last month. The aircon has never been so cold. Cheers Tony
