Hey guys need your advice on paint protection/wax offered by car dealers. Every time I buy a car, sales guy trying to sell me a wax/protection coat on my car. Its worth approx $400 and $50 every year if I want a respray.

Sure it.
You can get a wax for half that! Don't buy extras from the dealer!!

Best bet is to get a paint sealant and wax from a car care online shop or fixed store
What are you looking for - looks or longevity?

Not worth the money. Unless you watch them do it, which they probably wont let you do, you dont know what they have actually done to the car. Probably just the bonnet, boot and perhaps the roof.
Check out this thread, its been discussed at length previously. Also a good laugh. http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=74240 |

My dad got it on his new car. I can't believe he bought it because he is so tight. I can believe he bought a Yaris either.

No they generally don't prep the paint properly, you can get a better far cheaper result from a professional detailer or even by doing it yourself.
