there were a few good cars, but compared to other motor shows it was average. highlights, camaro, 300C (alpine & SRT), 40th ani GT, supercharged Elfin, Lancer hatchback prototype, Audi R8 and the supercharged old school MG. plus all the hot rod and Street Machines. what did everyone else think??

I went on the weekdays, so i missed out on the hot rod show.
As usual it was over-priced, didnt live up to expectations, not many good cars to look at, alot of plane jane hatches and little 4wd's. I was totally dis-satisfied, but for some reason i always keep going back year after year. I remember a number of years ago, Jag, BMW, and Merc used to come to the show, but they've all skipped it the last 3-4 years. i think it wont take too long untill Audi stop coming. Which doesnt suprise me because most people to check them out are all dreamers, and then you get kids just changing gears in the car without using the clutch, pretending they're some race car driver. Once again Adelaide is the poor cousin of the three other major capital cities.
Compared to Melbourne and Sydney motor shows, I thought it was a poor showing. BMW & Mercedes no show : The accessories section was pathetic. In Sydney there was about 80 aftermarket traders. If it wasn't for the seperate Ute show, Bike display and Street machine show, I would have felt ripped off. BBB Ps The pimped out 300C riding on 22's was very nice and the paint job was spectacular. :

Went there with my son on saturday - we enjoyed looking at the supercars (and bikes) and the hot rods etc. Our vote for the "fun" car of the show was - Elfin Streamliner -or more so the 50th anniversary!(suercharged) We felt we could really enjoy blasting around in one. Sort of a modern take on the Cobra, big v8 and low weight - (pity it uses a Holden motor) but it would be such fun The 50th model is only a track weapon - no compliance on the Harrop blower. Has anyone driven one of the Elfin cars - clubman or streamliner?
Frank
