I think the Youtube video are of other guys....not the Mustang owner.

Actually, I am thinking of a, possibly Mercury, with a V12(?) Rolls Royce jet engine.
Supercharged, rolls royce merlin V12 to be exact... in a '55 chev called 'Final Objective". Far too powerful for a dyno, but the engine's estimated to be making over 2000HP and 3000ftlbs @something like 1800rpm... I'm not sure how true that is because its mighty hard to prove... either way the thing would be a freaking animal and its street legal (on a special permit) too!

Maybe we can line up hadfields car and this one and have an airforce vs army drag race???

There was guy in the UK who built a chassis with 2 merlins they both drove into a combining gearbox that doubled the output rpm. This was output to single automatic transmission. Last I heard about it, It was exploding transmissions.

I saw a show on abc2 the other night about the original land speed cars and they were build around multipul aircraft engines. Some of the cars had 3 engines totaling 81litres in size. Dont remember the make of these engines but this was back in the 20's and 30's whne they were trying to break 150mph 200mph and 250 mph.

I remember Hadfields 'Final Objective' on the supercruise at Summernats one year..Absolutely awesome....

He will need 2 chutes to slow that muzzy down!..

And to think, all those years wasted on toying with a 351 :

Needs a bigger cam. :

That's actually the engine I just ordered. :

Anyway I've been trying to convert it into Ls.

I divided 1100, by 61.0237 which according to wikipedia, is the formula per 1L.

What I got is 18.02578343. By cutting off every number, from 0 onwards it's 18.0. So it should be roughly an 18L engine. Does that sound right?

JUst found a pic of another of these engines.
Who knows what this is going into, but my guess would be automotive, by looking at those triple Demon carbs.

Oh my GOD.

Any engine that can only be supported by axles stands (which as we all know usually support AN ENTIRE CAR) is an engine I like. Can you imagine spinning that baby up to just over idle and watching the rear tyres turn into liquid? I love it. I want it.

Soft!
One forum member has a XR6T that has 580rwkw and 1950NM and revs to over 7000rpm.

And this tank engine from the 40's can make that and probably only revs to 3000rpm. I can't imagine it would rev much at all.
