I think the forums need to force people to search before being able to post. Something like.....
Click on New Thread Window asks "What is this thread about?" User enters "How much km/tank" Search results come up for "How much km/tank" "What does my E series do on the 400m" "Cops suck" "I made a sandwich" Link on page that says "Found what you were looking for?" "Yes" does nothing. "No" lets them post a new thread... Might throw this in Site Suggestions.... |

Interesting it is..
A bit of work I would say, and the presentation may be an issue. An enhanced search feature may be an option

It could increase the amount of misleading thread titles.

Only reason I even thought of this is because while FFAU is great for new submission of information, at its current size its a huuuuuuuuge wealth of knowledge, and I think it's about time it got a bit more controlled, or library-like |

If you wern't allowed to start a new thread with the same title as an existing one, then people may resort to using different or misleading titles to be able to repost.

Instead of a popup, due to the fact a lot of people have popup blockers these days, what about mentioning the search function in the signup email?
Maybe even some kind of newbie tutorial. |
